The Apple Watch SE (3rd generation) is Apple's entry-level smartwatch, launched September 2025 alongside the Series 11. It brings the S9 chip, built-in GPS, crash detection, and the full watchOS ecosystem at $249 — without ECG, SpO2, or always-on display. For iPhone users who want Apple Watch without the premium price, it's the clear pick.
The SE 3 saves you $150 but gives up ECG, blood oxygen, the Series 12's five-second heart rate sampling, and some battery life (18 hours vs 24). If health sensors matter, pay up for the Series 12. For basic fitness and notifications, the SE 3 is excellent value.
